eve of all saints day

these are ni's pumpkins
she wanted to go whimsy with them
by cutting the bottom so that they would tilt up
making them look as if they were laughing

the peach colored one was so bizarre
it smelled like a wonderful fresh melon
and had all of these crystals in it

so here's the story with the mummy...
The church encourages us to dress the kids up in the theme of all saints day, by picking a saint or biblical character. Since Finn has been into mummies lately, i thought that Lazarus would be a perfect character. So i told him the story of Lazarus and he was really moved by it. A few days later we were in the store and out of the blue he said, "Mom, did Jesus really cry?"
I said, "yes, the strongest man that ever lived...cried"
The kid got tears in his eyes! and he told me that he didn't want to be Lazarus, he just wanted to be a mummy. (I'm thinking that he didn't want to make Jesus cry...seriously, he's so sensitive)

here's my mummy
here he is next to his pumpkin
